Update: Lucas Group hires new CEO


The Story
Professional recruiting service provider Lucas Group has named Andi Jennings as its newest chief executive officer, according to the Lucas Group
and the company’s growth plans. 
 
Having only held the CEO position for a week, Jennings said that she’s going to be re-familiarizing herself with the company's various departments, learning more about their operations and setting objectives for them.
 
“We’re faced with a very tough economy. Obviously the staffing industry as a whole has been hit pretty hard with job losses, so in the first few weeks what I have done and will continue to do is take a look department by department,” she said.
 
Jennings said that for the foreseeable future, she will remain in her Dallas, Texas location, since relocating to Atlanta would be costly for the company and its wide area networking capabilities make it possible for her to keep in close touch with staff.
 
According to Jennings, Lucas Group’s growth plans are going to be less aggressive until the economy stabilizes.
 
“The contract division is doing extremely well, so we’re going to look at adding headcount in that division and taking advantage of some of the opportunities we may be awarded with the new stimulus package,” she said.
 
The company has established international outposts in Germany and Singapore, but Jennings said that many more global growth opportunities abound.
 
“There are many, many major metropolitan areas that Lucas Group does not have a presence in, in the continental U.S.,” she said. “When you look beyond our borders, the possibilities are endless.”
 
Lucas Group’s marketing efforts are two-fold, Jennings said – targeting client companies who need employment services assistance, and also reaching out to talent for these clients. Its corporate client companies span businesses large and small.
 
Samantha Bontrager, marketing director, said that Lucas Group has a very “creative and innovative marketing program.”
 
“It’s geared toward creating and focusing on the quality of the experience that the client and candidate has with Lucas Group,” she said. “The quality of the experience is what sets us apart. It’s how you do it and how you make people feel working with you that will build brands long-term.”
 
Bontrager said that Lucas Group’s marketing is done strictly in-house, but the company does outsource some needs on a project-by-project basis as needed.

The Direction
Jennings is an affable and humorous executive to speak, and said that the company plans to ride out the economic storm before making major changes with its plans.  Agencies with B-to-B capabilities should keep Lucas Group on a long-term prospect list.
