Opportunity: Perry Ellis has named Celebrity Cruise marketing veteran Lisa Kauffman as EVP and CMO to lead marketing for Perry’s brands, which also includes Original Penguin. 

Therefore, agencies that specialize in male fashion and reaching a male millennial audience should reach out.  Be sure you focus your pitch on the upcoming fall/winter line, as creative for this spring is likely already in motion. 

According to Kantar, Ellis puts most of its media spend towards print media, specifically magazines in the spring and fall. So, sellers should seek last minute spring revenue but focus more on the big fall push. Keep in mind that the brand has been pushing golf apparel harder the past couple of years, opening up revenue opportunities outside fashion endemic.

Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, Perry Ellis allocated $2.45 million towards measured media through Q3, the latest spend data is available. This is a drop from the $3.14 million spent through Q3 in 2014. 

Digital Breakdown: In 2015, Perry Ellis ran 48 standard display ads with 235 publishers ( 1% mobile), 92% of which were placed programmatic, versus site direct, Moat reports. The brand also ran 14 high impact ads and one video ad. 

To compare, so far in 2016, the brand has run 10 standard ads with 46 publishers (7% mobile) and 37% placed site direct. This is an increase from the same period in 2015, and is on track to be an overall increase for the year.
