Forecasted: No. 29 Federal-Mogul Motorparts names digital AOR, launches ‘Parts Matter' campaign
Update (4/2): Federal-Mogul Motorparts, No. 29 in the iCrossing as its new digital AOR. “Parts Matter,” a digital and social media campaign that debuted last week in automotive and consumer-targeted digital media, will be integrated with other trade and consumer advertising, editorial and additional marketing activities in support of FMM’s broad portfolio of brands and products. The social media component urges consumers and repair professionals to share their own examples of why “parts matter” – through photos, videos and stories.
In addition to the digital campaign, FMM launched the “Tech First” initiative, which provides in-site, on-line and telephone-based technical training and product support to technicians, repair shop owners and parts professionals in North America.

Experience: Laura Soave has been named SVP and chief marketing and communications officer for FMM. Soave will be responsible for global brand management and all marketing initiatives and campaigns in North America. She will also oversee all communications activities, both internal and external. Soave previously served as VP and CEO for Chrysler's FIAT brand in North America. She left Chrysler in 2011 after the failed rollout of the FIAT 500 and has been consulting on a variety of automotive projects in the interim.
Company Restructuring: In Sept., FMM announced that it would break its two main businesses – aftermarket parts and powertrain – into two public companies. The split is pending US regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015 (more information here).
Media Spend: Kantar Media puts FMM's 2013 measured media spend at $1.8 million, most of which was allocated to broadcast ($1.4 million). The remainder was spent on print and digital (display) ads.
