Opportunity: Named two new digital executives to grow the companies digital content and analytics. Cindy Davis will join the company as EVP of consumer experience and John Frelinghuysen will become EVP of digital media, strategy and business development. In her role, Davis will be tasked with improving existing research capabilities across multiple platforms and enhancing Disney’s consumer insights and analytic capabilities to support our business strategies. Additionally, she will support marketing and advertising efforts. Frelinghuysen will oversee all aspects of strategy and business development across the company’s portfolio of content and brands for digital content, products and technology and all mobile platform efforts. This includes plans to monetize new and existing short- and long-form content and distribution. They come on board shortly after ABC Network moved digital planning and buying to Horizon (research here).
Experience: Davis joins from Walmart, where she served as EVP of global customer insights and analytics. She was also EVP of membership, marketing and e-Commerce for Sam’s Club.
Frelinghuysen joins the company from AOL, where he was SVP and head of strategy. Before that, he was with Bain & Co., serving as partner in the media, entertainment and information practice.
