Klipsch audio names new President, CEO

The Research
Klipsch Group Inc., a loudspeaker manufacturer owned by Audiovox, has announced that Paul Jacobs has been advanced to president and chief executive officer.
Fred Klipsch has stepped down from his position as president and CEO but will remain as chairman. He will stand election with the Audiovox board of directors in July.
Jacobs joined Klipsch in 1992 and worked his way up the ranks to chief operating officer.
Klipsch has led the organization since 1989, enabling the company to become a worldwide leader in the premium loudspeaker market.
Jacobs is taking on his new role after Jill Escol was promoted to marketing director in September (WinmoEdge article).
Indianapolis-based Klipsch is the newest Audiovox acquisition. Founded more than 65 years ago, it was one of the first loudspeaker companies in the U.S.
Klipsch’s other segments – Energy, Mirage and Jamo – have a much higher presence in international markets.
The List database was unable to identify any of Klipsch’s current agency relationships.
The Nielsen Company reports that Klipsch spent $500,000 on advertising in 2010. About $340,000 was spent on national magazine ads, about $18,000 was spent on outdoor ads and about $7,000 was spent on Internet ads.
