With new campaigns on the way, sellers should start booking leisure and business traveler focused ad revenue tied to Q2-Q3, Hyatt’s top advertising period. An advantage should go to hose with high millennial engagement rates, given Hyatt's amped up efforts to engage younger guests (research here). Hyatt’s top four ad spending brands are Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Park Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, according to Kantar Media.

Media Spend: Through Q3 last year, Hyatt Place, Park Hyatt and Hyatt Regency spent $32.7 million, $31 million and $30 million, respectively, on measured media, according to Kantar Media. Almost all of this supports search. The remainder largely funds TV and display ads.
TV Breakdown: Hyatt spent almost $10 million on national TV last year (see iSpot‘s targeting right), almost all of which supported the Regency’s new campaign (end of Oct-end of Dec.). This is a huge leap from the $32,500 spent over the prior year period.
Digital Breakdown: During the past 12 months, the Hyatt brand has gotten most of the hotelier’s desktop display support, followed by Regency and Place. Hyatt’s other brands barely register any SOV. Hyatt’s desktop activity has been highest Q4-Q2 and mostly targeted news, entertainment and travel publishers. Top sites include spike.com, flyertalk.com, mlb.com, yahoo.com, mtv.com, sfgate.com, cnn.com, weather.com and aol.com.
However, on the mobile front, SOV is split almost 50/50 between Hyatt and Regency. Both are mostly targeting news and entertainment sites like inc.com, people.com, health.cmo, usatoday.com, bravotv.com, nytimes.com and ktla.com.
Hyatt leads on video too but Place is close behind. Both are running video mostly on news and sports publishers. Top sites include topix.com, dailymotion.com, sportingnews.com and mlb.com.
