Review Imminent?: Netflix testing new media shops

Opportunity: A media review appears to be looming. We’ve just received word that Netflix running test campaigns with various agency partners, including IPG’s MEC is still the lead on media, but this doesn’t look like a good sign for the WPP shop, media AOR since 2011, according to The List. Therefore, media shops with the capabilities to handle this large account should reach out immediately. Make sure your intro references Netflix’s desire to decrease US ad spending due to high awareness levels. Also, keep in mind that Netflix operates its own trading desk in-house.

Creative shops – start making introductions, too, since creative reviews often follow media and vice versa. Plus, Netflix is already Mullen Lowe, Boston has been handling creative projects recently, so the IPG-owned MullenLowe Group could have the inside track on picking up the larger account.
