Opportunity: Selected QuickBook Ecosystem of offerings. The agency will lead the company’s programmatic ad buying, digital strategy, analytics and other biddable channels that aren’t bought through a demand-side platform (DSP). Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, Intuit spent $40.1 million on measured media for Quickbooks in 2014 (23.6% of Inuit’s total spend). Quickbooks’ 2014 spend was actually 59.9% higher than 2013 spend. The most money was allocated to broadcast ads (54.5%) and digital ads (40.4%), while the remainder went to print ads (magazines and B2B magazines).
TV Breakdown: ISpot.tv reports that QuickBooks has spent $25.4 million on national TV ads so far this year – up from $18.6 million for the same period 2014. The most money has been spent to air ads on Cartoon Network, AMC, CBS, ABC and ESPN during shows such as “NFL Football,” “The Walking Dead,” “Today,” “The Daily Share” and “The Cleveland Show.”
Digital Breakdown: Per Moat, Inuit has run 164 standard display ads on 4,745 publishers so far this year (<1% mobile), 94% were placed programmatically versus site direct. Top ad destinations include docstoc.com, forbes.com, computerworld.com, cnet.com and wikihow.com.
For the same period in 2014, 51 creatives rans 974 publishers, 70% of which were placed programmatically. 2014′s top ad destinations included: huffingtonpost.com, healthgrades.com and manta.com.
