Future Possibility Update: Jelly Belly CEO set to retire
Update (3/5): Jelly Belly President and COO Robert Simpson has announced that he will retire, effective March 31. Lisa Rowland Brasher will take the position of president and CEO, becoming the fifth generation of the Goelitz-Rowland family to lead the company. She will report to her father, Herman Rowland, who is chairman of the board. Brasher joined Jelly Belly in 1982 and has since held a number of roles from customer service representative to accounts payable, HR and sales merchandising. She joined the executive team as corporate director in 1990. The appointment of a new CEO causes Jelly Belly’s score to jump very slightly, from 42 to 48, which places it just outside of “Close Watch” status at No. 221 on the VAI. In January, the company named a new CMO (more below), so reach out now as these two new execs look to “accelerate” global and domestic business.
