Marketing Strategy: In the Q4 earnings call, WS CEO Laura Abler said West Elm will have new marketing initiatives, new test models for conversion and acquisition and will remain highly-focused on the mobile customer experience. West Elm Workspace will offer office systems, private office products, lounge seating and accessories and is intended to fill an “identified need” in the market in 2015.

Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, WS spent $4.8 million on measured media for West Elm, which was a 96.01% increase over 2013. $4.75 million (98.98%) was allocated to digital ads. Moat reports that only 87% of West Elm’s standard display ads last year were purchased by ad networks or exchanges instead of directly from the publisher.
