Account in Jeopardy Update: Havertys to invest heavily in mobile, digital in 2015
Update (12/18): During the Q3 2014 earnings call, CEO Clarence Smith said that the company is continuing to invest in enhancing its website and mobile access. It is also exploring new digital tools to utilize in stores. According to Smith, in 2015, Havertys will be investing a larger portion of its marketing budget to mobile development and website enhancements; keep in mind that the company’s internet sales are growing at a higher rate than overall store sales and over 80% of its customers use Havertys’ website to research and manage their sales and delivery process.
Havertys is currently executing an “aggressive” store opening a relocation program, which should include Western expansion. Recently, Havertys also opened its new Atlanta Buckhead Style Studio, featuring more contemporary and urban scale products. This studio will place an emphasis on special order and custom choice.
