Opportunity: La-Z-Boy has named Drew Sweeney as its new VP of sales and marketing for its case goods brands, including here), so approach with ideas that are congruent with the efforts that are currently under way.
Case Goods Restructuring: In April 2014, La-Z-Boy announced it would be restructuring its case goods business and would switch to an all-import model. Production at the company’s Hudson, NC, facility will cease during Q2 2015 (around the end of calendar 2014). The company also announced plans to market for sale its youth furniture business, Lea Industries, and its plans to exit the hospitality business.
