Glidden issues RFP for first PR AOR
Glidden Paint issues RFP for first PR AOR: AkzoNobel Paints has issued an RFP in search of a public relations AOR for its Glidden paint brand.
Glidden, which has never had a PR AOR, wants to bolster its outreach initiatives, Eric Stasiowski, director of communications at AkzoNobel, told PRWeek.
He added that Glidden expects to select an agency before the end of 2011.
DailyVista reached out to AkzoNobel for additional insight, but did not receive an immediate response.
Earlier this year, the brand hired Waltham, Mass.-based Digital Influence Group as its first social media AOR.
AkzoNobel is a Fortune 500 company based in Amsterdam that operates in more than 80 countries and has about 55,000 employees.
With United States headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio, AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints division also includes brands like Dulux, Flood and Hammerite.
Nielsen reports that AkzoNobel spent $891,000 on advertising in 2010. About $775,000 was spent on B-to-B efforts, about $63,000 was spent on spot radio ads and about $50,000 was spent on Internet ads.
