Industrial company Graco invests millions towards marketing new products

Graco’s new investments should open up new business opportunities for a variety of B2B focused marketers and advertisers.
Opportunities

Million Dollar Marketing Increases: Graco has a “large” number of new products in Contractor Equipment launching in 2014, CEO and President Patrick McHale said during the company’s fourth quarter earnings call. The company will pump $3 million behind marketing and new product development in its Contractor segment, its strongest unit.

Product Launches & Expansions: Graco plans significant immediate and long-term initiatives for its product lines across several business units. B2B marketers experienced with manufacturing companies and product can engage this company about possible go-to-market strategies.

This growth signals a great opportunity for niche marketers with international footprints to engage Graco.

Primary challenge

Slow Product Orders: Commercial products are subject to conservative ordering from retailers, for example with the upcoming Contractor products in Q4. McHale explained retailers ordered existing product at year-end in anticipation of new product rather than the new product.

In Q3, the Lubrication business had reduced orders as well. You should keep aware of that trend as Graco pushes product and development initiatives this year.
