Media Spend: Kao USA’s measured media spend has dropped for three straight years, going from $128.1 million in 2011 to $69.4 million in 2013, according to Kantar Media. However, note that Spanish language network TV received $2.5 million last year, the first in time in three years that Kao USA made any investments there. 

DailyVista’s Take: Expect spending to rise behind new campaigns that re-engage customers and attract new, younger consumers to the Jergens  and John Frieda brands. Arnold will officially begin work May 1. Note that a decision regarding the AOR for Biore and Curel will be made at a later date.
