TV, Digital Opps: CLR cleaner parent boosts ad spend for new campaign

Opportunity: Announced the first ever, full rebranding of the entire CLR product line as a new way to to reach consumers. In doing so, the new packaging focuses on better showcasing the products functions and also looking at the brand’s overall purpose. In creating the new packaging, the company felt that it was important to highlight its dedication to environmentally-friendly products and partnership with the EPA, as well as the “Woman-Owned” logo, featuring Jelmar as a woman-owned and operated business.
To go along with its new look, Jelmar has also released new digital and video ads. As a result, TV and digital have gone up over the past month or so. In fact, national TV spend went from $0 to $102,839 in just the month of March, and digital spend has continually increased over the past year. Therefore – sellers with high engagement rates among female household decision makers should reach out now/ Expect a continual increase in ad dollars to be available, as the campaign has just launched and spending will likely continue to rise.

Media Spend: According to Kantar Media, Jelmar spent $4 million on measured media in 2015 (through Q3). The largest portion of the spending went towards broadcast, mostly cable and spot TV, while the rest was divided among digital and Spanish media recap.
TV Breakdown: After spending $444,948 on national TV advertising for all of 2015, Jelmar has already spent over a quarter of that, just the past month, iSpot reports.
Digital Breakdown: According to Moat, since January, the CLR brand has run seven standard display ads on 19 publishers (<1% mobile), with 87% placed site direct versus programmatic. Top ad destinations included mywebgrocer.com, shoprite.com, icloud.com, google.com, harristeeter.com, greenoptions.com and frugalvillage.com.
In comparison, for all of 2015, the brand ran nine standard display, two high impact and one video ad on 49 publishers.
