Opportunity: Appointed Todd Kline to the newly position of chief commercial officer, where he’ll oversee all sponsor revenue, including corporate partnerships and events. Experience: Kline comes to the Dolphins from AEG Global, where he served as SVP of partnership and media sales. Dolphins president and CEO Tom Garfinkel said; “Kline adds world-class experience in partnership and media sales to our leadership team [and] his relationship-based and innovative approach will help us grow the value proposition for our partners.”
Executive Promotions: In addition to creating the chief commercial officer position, the Dolphins have promoted Jeremy Walls to SVP and CMO, where he will lead team marketing, ticket sales/operations and entertainment efforts. Jason Jenkins has been promoted to SVP of communications and community affairs, which includes directing the organization’s digital media as well as the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
Walls, who previously served as president and chief revenue officer, led efforts this season that made the Dolphins the top NFL team in home ticket sales growth, according to a statement.
Media Spend: Kantar Media reports the Dolphins’ 2013 media spend at $81, 100. It was largely spent on broadcast ($55, 200) and about a quarter was allocated to print ($19,000), with the remainder being spent on out-of-home ($6,350).
