Digital, Outdoor Opps: Virgin Atlantic debuts first work from US AOR


Update (4/9): In Jan., Virgin Atlantic named a new creative AOR: Figliulo & Partners. Now the first work from the firm is launching in US markets. “Business is an Adventure” looks to encourage and inspire international business travelers using digital and out-of-home elements (e.g. transit hubs including NYC’s Fulton St. subway station).  Simon Bradley, North American marketing VP, said the campaign builds on the global “Let it Fly,” platform (more below).

Digital ads are running on business sites such as New York Times, the Wall St. Journal and The Guardian.

Opportunity: In Sept. 2014, we told you that Virgin Atlantic was looking for a new creative shop (research Adam & Eve/DDB and to find a way to take the proposition to the US. The first work is due out in the next few months, so ad sellers should be on this now.

Media Spend: The North American budget for Virgin Atlantic is only $10 million to $15 million, so look for a focus on social, digital and experiential marketing. In fact, part of F&P's role is to “look at where to do digital versus other channels.”
