In Review: #41 Jack in the Box reviewing media, coincides with Qdoba creative review
Update (7/11): I hope you've been Horizon, LA, media AOR for Jack and Tex-Mex sibling Qdoba, will defend. The review appears to still be in the early stages, so agencies with the capability to handle this large account should reach out immediately.
Remember, creative reviews often follow media (and vice versa). In fact, David&Goliath since 2015. This puts the relationship right at average AOR tenure (2.5-to-3 years), raising the vulnerability of that work moving, too.

We're a bit late to highlighting Alter's promotion; however, Horizon, LA has had media since 2006, way past average AOR tenure (2.5-3 years), making it more vulnerable.
Sellers - Jack's ~$60 million millennial male-focused ad budget runs year around. Keep going after potential last minute and supplemental 2017 buys tied to the brand and limited time offers (LTOs). Plus, we also hear that the 2018 media planning process has begun, meaning there may still be time to schedule meetings to receive those RFPs.
Sellers offering high ROI desktop and mobile video extensions may have an advantage securing revenue. More of Jack's budgets digital budgets have gone that way the past 12 months.
Experience: Alter has been with Jack since 2005, most recently as product marketing and innovation VP. She succeeds Keith Guilbault, who became president of Tex-mex sibling Qdoba last June after serving as the burger chain's chief marker from 2013-2016.
TV Breakdown: $48.1 million has gone to national TV ads since last June (see show targeting right), down from $68 million during the prior year period, iSpot.tv reports.
Digital Breakdown: The drop in TV dollars have been reallocated to display. Pathmatics shows that Jack's digital outlays the past year doubled to $10.5 million for 567.7 million impressions from $5.8 million for 316 million impressions.
Site direct desktop video still makes up the bulk of spending, at 74%, or $7.8 million of budget. And, new this year is a rise in mobile video, where $1.8 million has gone to running ads on YouTube.
Other top targeted sites include hulu.com, theonion.com, losangeles.cbslocal.com, Gannett's freep.com, avclub.com, Turner's funnyordie.com and nydailynews.com.
