H2 Media Opps: WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone taps new AOR to drive consumer engagement
TDA_Boulder as AOR to handle advertising and media strategy. The new shop kicked off its first work for the company in the spring, with the launch of a new brand identity. TDA will continue to work with WOW! to update and modernize its brand, positioning it to be more consumer-focused through a commitment to "non-data capped internet and nicer-than-nice customer service."
With that said, expect marketing spend to continue to rise moving forward, as the company looks to drive awareness and engagement among new and existing customers. Specifically, look for an increase in digital, as Pathmatics reports that digital display spend is already almost double the amount it was for all of last year. Additionally, look for a rise in spend across traditional channels that can offer high reach among new homeowners and renters.
FYI - TDA was hired about a year after WOW named Scott Russell as its chief marketing and sales officer. So, with a new AOR on its roster just about nine months after announcing Russell's appointment, this shows us that the new chief marketer clearly doesn't waste any time getting the ball rolling.
Experience: Russell took over his chief marketing post just shortly after joining WOW in his most recent role as marketing VP. Prior to WOW, Russell held multiple executive level roles at top companies including CenturyLink, Level 3, AT&T Broadband, TCI and Southern Pacific Lines.
Digital Breakdown: Pathmatics reports that WOW has spent $1.02 million on digital display ads this year, the majority of which have been placed programmatically via DSP channels. Top ad destinations include ebay.com, answers.com, wikia.com and foxnews.com.
In comparison, the amount spent on display ads this year is about double the amount spent for all of last year. In 2016, the company spent $528,800 on display ads, up from the $400,000 spent the year prior.
