Millennial Media Opps: Club Med going after affluent parents, couples to revive brand


With vacation season around the corner, sellers should keep pinging MMGY as North American creative/social AOR and invested more than $1.5 billion to upgrade properties and is now going after affluent mature millennial (30-somethings with moola) families and active couples. 

So, while print has traditionally made up the majority of their ~~$2M ad budget, look for display budgets, especially direct response (DR), to keep rising through the end of the year. Travel endemic sellers should continue to have an advantage securing revenue, but Club Med has also been running with more news and entertainment sites. Digital Breakdown: $429,300 has gone to display since last April, even with spending a year earlier, but impressions have fallen to 59.2M from 114.3M as they've moved from programmatic to site direct buying. For the past year, 62% of impressions were bought site direct compared to only 29% before, Pathmatics shows. 

Top targeted sites include tripadvisor.com, youtube.com, Gannett's usatoday.com, Conde Nast's cntraveler.com, accueather.com, Penske's hollywoodlife.com, and Bonnier's popsci.com.
