Per a recent Q2 earnings call,
According to iSpot, a YTD national TV spend of $9.5 million has gone towards commercials targeting a variety of audiences (see targeting right). The NYT has already surpassed its total 2018 spend, which increased to $7.7 million from that of $5 million in 2017.
