Campaign Imminent: Kentucky Travel receives funds for upcoming campaign launch


Kentucky Travel (KT) reportedly received $5 in federal funding for upcoming tourism-related support. The funds will go toward encouraging safe travel to the state. KT's officials are creating marketing material right now to reach multi-cultural, national and international travelers now that the US's travel restrictions are being lifted. Sellers should get in touch soon to secure last-minute ad dollars for upcoming initiatives.

According to Pathmatics, KT has spent roughly $56k on digital ads YTD, almost 4x the roughly $15.2k it had spent by this point last year. The organization's estimated digital spend of 2020 of $275.7k only reached around half of $513.8k in 2019. So far this year, KT has earned around 8.9m digital impressions via Facebook (65%), Instagram (26%), desktop display (8%) and mobile display (3%) ads.

As you can see, even though the organization's digital spend dwindled in 2020, it's already picking up in 2021; spend will continue rising as it launches upcoming ad work. KT's reliance on Facebook and Instagram shows that it's primarily targeting Gen-Z right now. To do so, upcoming campaigns will likely include OTT and/or podcast advertising.
