Campaign Imminent: Sports recovery drink Kill Cliff taps first AOR to drive awareness


Atlanta-based workout recovery drink Erwin Penland as its first AOR to handle all brand, strategy, content and social media work. The new shop is tasked with building on the brand's core CrossFit audience, and expanding its mass appeal in order to drive market presence globally.

Digital sellers should reach out right away to secure new campaign revenue. Pathmatics reports that Kill Cliff has already spent $158,500 on digital display ads after running none a year earlier. While the majority of display spend has been allocated towards desktop ads, in the past month desktop video spend has spiked.

In addition to digital, sponsorship and event sellers with an active lifestyle consumer presence should be on the lookout for potential revenue.

Digital Breakdown: According to Pathmatics, Kill Cliff has spent $158,500 on digital display ads, 71% of which have been placed via ad networks Amazon (70%) and Google AdX + AdSense (1%). The remaining impressions have been placed site direct. Top ad destinations include amazon.com and youtube.com.

Marketing Appointments: In January 2016, Kill Cliff hired Danielle Daoust as field marketing manager. She previously served as a promotions specialist at TEAM Enterprises. During the same month, the company promoted field marketing manager Ellie Bowen to director of field marketing.

In June, the company hired General Mills marketing veteran Mark Skeba as VP of marketing. Skeba replaced Athena Kasvikis, who served as marketing head since 2014. It is unclear whether Kasvikis is still with the company or what position she holds now, but we will let you know as soon as we hear anything.
