Q2-Q4 Media Opps: United Way Worldwide launches PSA campaign with new AOR


 

BVK. The "Join the Fight" campaign is aimed at driving awareness of issues that many communities face, such as lack of education, underemployment, homelessness, drug addiction, human trafficking and veteran acclimatization challenges, and encouraging people to become "part of the solution."

Until now, United Way's marketing has portrayed how the organization helps communities. The new work looks at how communities are affected when they don't get the help, reminding viewers that change can't happen alone and encouraging them to "Join the Fight." Starting this month, the PSA will run across TV, radio, print and online. 

Therefore, sellers should reach out to secure revenue in these areas. Keep in mind, though, that much of this could be free media. Still, if so, it gives you an opportunity to help out, while  getting your foot in the door for future donation and volunteer-focused paid media opportunities.

Digital Breakdown: Pathmatics reports that so far this year, United Way has spent $152,000 on digital display ads, the majority of which have been placed site direct on sites such as cleveland.com, wfmz.com and clarionledger.com. 

In comparison, for all of 2016, the organization spent $834,000 on digital display, down from the $1 million spent for all of 2015. For all of last year, the ads were also placed primarily site direct on top ad destinations seekingalpha.com, wfmz.com and jsonline.com.
